I haven’t disclosed this tidbit of information about myself yet, but I absolutely love wolves! And my traveling companion at the time absolutely loved bears, so when we caught wind of a wolf and bear tracker that lived up in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, we obviously had to contact him. We were in Vienna, Austria at the time and I ended up purchasing a ridiculous wolf t-shirt at the Naschmarkt just for this specific adventure. Packing a whole philosophy into one small phrase is nearly impossible, yet we tend to try and do it anyway. Travel quotes are no different. Who among us hasn’t heard JRR Tolkien’s phrase, “Not all those who wander are lost” taken from his poem written back in 1954? I think we can agree these quotes are timeless, but also a bit dusty.
