Trigger warning: This post contains descriptions of child sex trafficking in Cambodia, animal abuse, and genocide.
Cambodia still haunts me, and my feelings toward it are convoluted. I find that I want to cradle it in my arms, as if holding an injured thing. I feel great compassion towards its people, as well as love and sadness. But Cambodia is strong and has proven resilient in many ways. It has definitely left its mark on me.

So what’s the Law of Attraction got to do with Travel?
Earlier this year I started a few new ventures and driving for Lyft was one of them. My favorite rides are the ones to and from the airport. I absolutely love chatting with people about where they are going or coming from, and more often than not I’ve either been there or know someone who has. I can recommend hostels, talk about CouchSurfing, explain WorkAway or just swap stories. A few weeks back I had a car full of girls that were talking about a trip they had just taken to Amsterdam.
“Where’d you stay?” I asked before continuing to say, “I went a few years back, and I stayed at a really popular hostel right near the train station, it was called –“
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! It’s been one long minute since I’ve posted, and although I’ve missed nurturing my creative side thru this vice, I’ve really been spending a considerable amount of time on other parts of myself. I didn’t have any specific New Years Resolutions this year, however, with the changes I’ve been going through you’d think I had subscribed to a slew of them! I wanted to be transparent with my readers (you!), about my absence from the online world, my lifestyle changes, growth, and ultimately about the state of becoming.
Here in Knoxville the temperature dropped to a brisk 39 degrees over the weekend. It was a quick reminder that fall is in full swing and I’m in need of a few additions to the ol’ warm weather wardrobe!
Gen2 Folding Firebox Nano Ultralight
This is a super exciting product that I can’t believe I hadn’t come across sooner. For $39.99, this little piece of equipment is well worth the money. With the Gen2 Folding Firebox Nano Ultralight you can say good riddance to hauling around canisters, pot stands, or windscreens. Now you can forget all of that extra weight while still enjoying warm meals and beverages after a long day of hiking or during camping trips. The Firebox Nano weighs in at a jaw-dropping 6 oz, which is pretty awesome for any ultralight backpackers out there looking to retire there old trusty stove for a more practical one.
Perhaps the globe-trotter in your life likes to sport off their hobby. Keeping practicality in mind, let’s explore the option of graphic tees!
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter for Hiking, Camping, Travel, and Emergency Preparedness
If you frequent my site a bit regularly, you may have already come across my review on the SteriPen Adventurer. Which is a fantastic little tool that I used all through SE Asia with zero problems. It worked perfectly for what I needed it for, but in my opinion, a better option when it comes to backpacking and camping is the LifeStraw. It totally depends on the type of traveling you’re doing, which countries you’re traveling through, and how much camping you’ll be doing while there.
