Sure it’s fun to say, but what’s it stand for?
World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms is another Cheap Travel Tip we’ll be exploring.
Take a minute to check out their website www.wwoofinternational.org if you’re at all interested in this option. Even though I haven’t personally been a WWOOFer, I wanted to throw this concept out there for any backpackers it may benefit.
I had planned to WWOOF in Nepal before my trip took an unexpected turn, the way trips sometimes do. And I still plan on becoming involved in this organization sometime in the near future. One thing to keep in mind is that these are farms that are generally set far outside of cities and tourist attractions. So this may be a lucrative decision for you if you have access to transportation and are really wanting to delve into the cultural and interpersonal relationships side of travel.
On the other hand, if you’re wanting to be in the middle of the action as a tourist this may not be your cup of tea. It’s really dependent on the type of trip you’re out to have!
