The Yubi Universal Travel Power Adapter is a space saver!
I’m not sure if you remember the days of lugging around a pouch of about ten different power adapters, but I sure do!
Depending on what country I was in, I’d have to dig around and pray the specific one I needed hadn’t fallen out into the black hole that had overtaken my pack.
I remember the stress of thrusting my arm, elbow deep, down into the contents of my Osprey as I eyed that very last available wall outlet in my hostel room, hoping I’d get to it before any of my roomies. My fingers blindly feeling every single item I had packed EXCEPT for the specific power adapter I needed.
Meanwhile my smart phone was on the brink of death.
Can you imagine!? Luckily those days are over! There are a number of universal power adapters on the market, however I chose to feature the one that I have personally used for several years now. The Yubi. When I travel I keep it in one of my outer zip pockets for easy access, and it has saved me loads of time and frustration!
It comes in a few different colors (I love the bright green one) and is truly an all-in-one alternative for the pouch-of-ten adapters from yesteryear.
The Yubi Can be used in over 150 countries – this is FANTASTIC for long-term backpacking trips! Not only is it solid and sturdy, but it’s also one of the cheaper options and the color choices are way cooler than the black ones you’re typically stuck with. Although it only mentions the US, Aus/NZ, the UK and Europe, I’ve also used my Yubi in nine SE Asian countries. You can also charge two devices at the same time with this particular model.
As if it could get much better, Yubi recently came out with Yubi POWER. The Yubi POWER, along with showcasing all of the great features of the original Yubi, also includes two USB ports.
The USB has an over charging protection so it will stop charging when your batteries are full. It also has an over current protection so you can safely use both ports at the same time.
